There’s something for everyone at Hard Rock Los Cabos. As a brand new build in the Diamante development of Los Cabos, opened June 2019, the hoteliers had the opportunity to consider how to redefine upscale all-inclusive to better accommodate a larger array of clientele.
Who I would recommend it for – to reel it back a bit, this property isn’t for everyone – I wouldn’t recommend it for those seeking romance, peace and quiet, or ultra-luxury – but it’s perfect for groups, families, corporate events, incentive trips, and weddings. With 639 rooms, 5 pools all with swim-up bars (including two adults-only), 8 restaurants/3 lounges, and a bevy of activities/excursions/amenities, including a 4-lane bowling alley, you’re bound to find something you like.
Dining – all-inclusives are notorious for sub-par food where everything tastes the same like bland banquet food. Although you will find your typical all-inclusive go-tos: buffet, teppanyaki, steakhouse, Italian, and Brazilian churrascaria, it’s anything but typical. I mean, it’s not going to be Mastro’s or Fogo de Chao, but better than Benihana 🙂
Specialty restaurants are included but reservations are required.
Room Product Tips – rooms are housed in three U-shaped buildings. Almost all rooms have ocean views except for the family suites but the biggest difference in location is ambiance. The towers in the center (Chord and Tune) are going to be the most lively as they are located near the main pool. Echo tower is where one of the adults-only pools is located and where you’ll want to go for a quieter setting. Octave is where the concerts/events are and all Rock Royalty rooms are here (the Hard Rock’s version of club level which also gives you access to the VIP lounge and Rock Royalty pool).
Limitless All-Inclusive – I’m most excited about this feature because it’s such a great value, already included in the rate of stay, and unique to Hard Rock/Unico hotels. For certain things like spa services and tours you’d be paying out of pocket for, with Limitless All-Inclusive, you only pay a 25% service fee. See spa menu below as an example. A 50 minute deep-tissue massage is $250, which for resort pricing is a little on the high side, all things considered, but not unreasonable. But in this case, you’d only be paying $50 for that massage. Same goes for tours and excursions (and aforementioned bowling alley lane rental).
Misc. – I write about Cabo quite a bit since it’s such an easy destination to do, especially those of us from the West Coast, but just a few things to reiterate:
- This property is not located on a swimmable beach as are most in Cabo due to the strong undertow. The beach itself is beautiful with a large stretch of soft sand
- Golf is not included in the Limitless All-Inclusive but they do have an arrangement with Diamante to play their course at market rates
- Getting here: Fly into SJD airport (or Cabo’s private airstrip in your private plane) , transfers are not included and takes about 45 minutes from the airport
Rates – opening special pricing starting as low as $350 for 2 adults thru low-season until festive holiday season. High-season starting January 2020 around $500, currently bookable thru August 2020. I’m not just saying this because I am one, but an experienced travel advisor will know where and how to get you the best wholesale rates.
